Job Summary:
Immediate Opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Inspector to join our team on Maryland's Eastern Shore (MDOT SHA District 1 area). The Construction Inspector will be responsible for inspecting construction of roadway and roadway work, ensuring compliance with specifications, construction material placement, safety, and some QA materials testing the field.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 or more years of construction inspection experience.
• ACI or WACEL Concrete Field Certification, and WACEL or MARTCP Soil Compaction Certifications a plus
• Attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, and work outside in all weather conditions, and stand for long periods of time and traverse varying field conditions.
• Availability to work nights and weekends if needed,

Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications, plans, and approved material sources of supply and SHA standards
• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Document and report inspection findings
• Identify and communicate any issues or deviations from plans to the appropriate parties
• Collaborate with contractors to address concerns and provide guidance
• Identify and communicate unsafe work practices.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and related documentation in a timely manner
• Collect material test samples and perform QA testing of soils and aggregates, including compaction, bearing capacity, etc. and witness QC concrete field testing.
